An elegant summer wedding filled with heartfelt traditions, timeless romance, and unforgettable moments in Vaughan, Ontario.

Some love stories begin with a single moment. Others take their time, quietly unfolding until two people realize that the person who has been beside them all along is the one they were meant to spend forever with.

For Josie and Robert, their story began in the classrooms of York University. What started as a friendship gradually became something much deeper. After years of getting to know one another, laughter, and shared experiences, friendship turned into love.

And on August 8, 2026, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them, they celebrated the beginning of their next chapter together.

From University Friends to Forever

There’s something especially beautiful about a love that begins with friendship.

Before the wedding plans, the beautiful dress, and the promises exchanged at the altar, Josie and Robert spent years simply getting to know one another.

Josie describes Robert as thoughtful, patient, caring, and endlessly supportive. Someone she admires just as much as she loves.

For Robert, it’s Josie’s beauty, humour, and the way she cares so deeply for the people around her that make her extraordinary. She is the person who can always make him laugh, and the person he considers the very best he knows.

Together, they have built a relationship rooted in friendship, admiration, and the kind of love that feels both effortless and enduring.

A Surprise Proposal Among the Sand Dunes

Long before their wedding day, there was a weekend getaway to Prince Edward County that would change everything.

It was their second visit together, and Robert had something unforgettable planned.

He brought Josie to Dune Beach at Sandbanks Provincial Park, where the two began wandering through the beautiful sand dunes in search of the perfect spot.

What Josie didn’t know was that Robert was searching for much more than a beautiful view.

As they walked up and down the dunes, Josie couldn’t help complaining about how difficult the climb was, completely unaware of the surprise waiting for her.

Eventually, Robert found his perfect location.

He carefully positioned his phone, suggesting they take a few photographs and videos together using the self-timer.

And then, in the middle of the sand dunes, he asked Josie to marry him.

The moment was a complete surprise, filled with happy tears, overwhelming emotion, and the excitement of knowing their lives were about to change forever.

Even more beautifully, Robert had captured the entire proposal on video.

They spent the rest of their weekend celebrating together, carrying a memory that would forever make Prince Edward County part of their love story.

August 8, 2026 | A Celebration of Love and Family

When it came time to plan their wedding, Josie and Robert knew exactly how they wanted the day to feel.

Romantic. Intimate in spirit. Meaningful.

Above all, they wanted every person in the room to feel that they were part of something special.

Their ceremony took place at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, where one of the most unforgettable moments of their day unfolded.

For Josie and Robert, seeing one another at the altar was a moment unlike anything they had experienced before.

After months of anticipation, there they were — Josie in her beautiful wedding gown and Robert waiting in his suit, ready to begin their lives together as husband and wife.

As they exchanged their vows, the world around them seemed to disappear.

They later described feeling as though they were the only two people in the church.

And perhaps that’s what makes a wedding ceremony so extraordinary. In a room filled with family and friends, there can still be a moment that belongs entirely to two people.

A quiet promise in the middle of a beautiful celebration.

Chateau Le Parc Wedding Photography | A Romantic Reception

Some wedding venues simply feel right from the moment you walk through the doors.

For Josie and Robert, Chateau Le Parc in Vaughan was exact;y that, providing a beautiful setting for their celebration and the kind of romantic atmosphere that makes Chateau Le Parc wedding photography so special.

It was the very first reception venue they visited, and almost immediately, they could envision their wedding taking place there.

Even after touring other locations, they couldn’t forget that feeling.

Their vision was one of understated drama and refined elegance.

Rich black draping created a striking backdrop, while delicate white florals and the soft glow of candlelight brought warmth and romance into the room.

The contrast was beautiful — bold yet refined, dramatic yet inviting.

Rather than following a particular wedding theme, Josie and Robert chose details that genuinely spoke to them, drawing inspiration from designs they loved and creating a celebration that felt entirely their own.

Every element worked together to create an atmosphere where elegance and emotion could exist side by side.

Honouring the People Who Will Always Be Part of Their Story

Among the many beautiful details of Josie and Robert’s wedding was something especially meaningful.

An in-loving-memory table honoured the family members and loved ones who could not be there in person but would forever remain part of their lives.

It was a thoughtful reminder that weddings are not only about celebrating the future, but also about honouring the people and memories that helped shape the journey.

And later that evening came another unforgettable tribute to family.

Josie and Robert had planned a surprise for their mothers.

Rather than limiting the moment to a traditional parent dance, they invited all the mothers and children in the room to join them on the dance floor.

Mothers, sons, daughters, and siblings came together to share a moment filled with love and gratitude.

What began as a special surprise became one of the most meaningful memories of the entire celebration.

There is something incredibly moving about seeing generations come together on a wedding day.

It reminds us that while a wedding celebrates two people beginning a new chapter, it also celebrates the families and relationships that surround them.

For Josie and Robert, that dance will always hold a special place in their hearts.

An Evening Filled With Music, Laughter, and Unforgettable Memories

As the evening unfolded, the celebration became everything Josie and Robert had hoped for.

Family and friends filled the dance floor, singing along to their favourite songs, laughing, and celebrating a love story that had been years in the making.

And when asked which unforgettable moment still makes them smile, their answer wasn’t about a single grand gesture.

It was the dancing.

All of it.

The joy of being surrounded by everyone they love, celebrating together without a care in the world.

Because sometimes the moments that stay with us the longest aren’t the ones we plan down to the smallest detail.

They’re the ones where we simply allow ourselves to be present.

Preserving the Moments That Matter | Butterfly Kisses Photography & Coppola Films

As wedding photographers and filmmakers, we believe the most meaningful wedding photographs go far beyond how beautiful a celebration looks.

They preserve how it felt.

The anticipation before seeing one another. The emotion of exchanging vows. The tenderness of a family tradition. The laughter that fills a dance floor long after the formalities have ended.

Josie and Robert have already returned to their wedding photographs countless times, reliving the moments they shared and the people who made their day unforgettable.

And that is exactly what we hope every couple experiences when looking back at their wedding gallery.

Not simply remembering what happened, but feeling those emotions all over again.

Through photography and cinematic wedding films, our goal at Butterfly Kisses Photography and Coppola Films is to preserve those fleeting moments in a way that feels honest, timeless, and deeply personal.

Because years from now, when the flowers have faded and the music has stopped, those memories will only become more precious.

A Little Advice From Josie & Robert

When asked what advice they would give to couples planning their own wedding, Josie and Robert shared something beautifully simple:

Enjoy every second of the planning process and your wedding day together, because it arrives so quickly and passes even faster.

And if they could relive just one moment?

It would be seeing each other for the first time at the altar.

That extraordinary feeling of anticipation, excitement, and knowing that the person standing before you is the person you will share the rest of your life with.

A Love Story Worth Remembering

From university classrooms to the sand dunes of Prince Edward County, from a heartfelt ceremony at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church to an elegant evening at Château Le Parc, Josie and Robert’s story is a beautiful reminder that the greatest love stories don’t always begin with fireworks.

Sometimes, they begin with friendship.

They grow through patience, kindness, laughter, and years of choosing one another.

And eventually, they lead to a moment at the altar when everything else fades away.

Josie and Robert, thank you for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful chapter in your lives.

May you always find reasons to laugh together, continue to be each other’s greatest support, and never lose the beautiful friendship that started it all.

With love,
